Ideas at the House is Sydney Opera House’s public lecture series. Our goal is to help grow and support Sydney’s cultural scene by infusing it with intelligent discussion and debate from a broad range of disciplines. We’ve brought many a great mind to our shores, from intellectuals like Richard Dawkins, Peter Singer and Germaine Greer through to pop culture icons like Jonathan Franzen, David Sedaris and Joss Whedon.

We host events at Sydney Opera House throughout the year, culminating in our annual ‘Festival of Dangerous Ideas,’ which brings in sixty speakers across multiple venues over a single weekend.

The Ideas at the House online hub isn’t just for informing you about events and program updates. You can check out full videos of previous talks, read and comment on articles and opinion pieces, submit articles and opinion pieces, and generally keep you engaged with ideas and discussion year round.

Please send any questions, comments or feedback about the website or our program through to ideas@sydneyoperahouse.com.

Ideas at the House is proud to have Deloitte as its Presenting Partner.
